A text the afternoon before is the one that gets read. Two lines, a time window, and one easy reply.
Hi [name], it's [your name] at [shop]. A reminder we're coming tomorrow, [day], between [time window] for the [job]. Reply YES to confirm, or let me know if you need a new time.
Hi [name], [tech name] from [shop] is on the way and should be there in about [minutes]. See you soon.

Email is better when there's something to read or do first: clear the area under the sink, put the dog in the yard, leave the gate code.

Different visits need different lines. Keep the shape, change the middle.

A free appointment reminder template for confirmations
Asking for a reply turns a reminder into a confirmation. When they answer, you know the visit is on. When they don't, you call before you drive across town.
Hi [name], confirming your [job] on [day] between [time window]. Reply 1 to confirm or 2 to pick a new time. Thanks, [shop]
Only offer a new time you can actually give.
- They confirm. Mark it on the schedule.
- They ask to move it. Offer two real times.
- No reply by morning. Call before you leave.
